I'll have to admit I've had some disasters when trying to make marinara sauce before, but this recipe right here is one of the easiest, most delicious recipes I've ever tried. (and it will go great with those homemade mozzarella sticks!!)
What You'll Need
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small to medium sized onion, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced and crushed
1 can (about 15oz) tomato sauce or puree
2 teaspoons dried basil
In a medium saucepan, heat oil until sizzling. Immediately stir in garlic and onions; reduce heat to medium. Cook mixture, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender and just beginning to brown. Stir in the tomato sauce or puree, and add dried basil. Simmer uncovered for five to seven minutes, adjusting heat as needed and stirring occasionally, taking care not to scorch the mixture. Serve over pasta or with anything you want really.
Hope you guys enjoy it!
